The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Nurse Specialist (XR06) for a part-time position in the Cardiorespiratory CSU, focusing on the management of patient flow within the Cardiology patient flow team. The ideal candidate should possess experience in patient management at Band 5 or Band 6 level, exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate reliable communication skills—cardiology knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory. The role entails safe patient placement at the Leeds General Infirmary, coordinating care across various departments, and supporting ward teams, discharge teams, and management to ensure effective patient flow from the Emergency Department.

In addition to clinical care responsibilities, the Nurse Specialist will provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, conduct patient assessments and treatment planning, and engage in education and training of junior staff and patients. The role also includes maintaining accurate clinical records, participation in patient safety initiatives, and contributing to the development of nursing practices based on evidence and user feedback. This permanent position offers a salary range of £37,338 to £44,962 with a flexible working pattern.
