Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk post on Ward 10 that will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward. The successful candidate will be privy to sensitive information in relation to patient's confidential information.
This role has a wide variety of administrative tasks that need to be completed. The role is ideal for someone who has willingness to learn new skills, can work in a busy environment. The vacancy is full time 37.5 hrs per week, and the working hours will be from Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00.
Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job
- To check demographic details are correct on admission and discharge.
- To arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals/departments.
- To answer the telephone, taking messages or transferring calls as appropriate.
- To co-ordinate outpatient appointments with clinic clerk prior to discharge.
- To prepare any discharged patients paperwork for scanning.
- To provide support to nursing staff for general patient requests.
- Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment.
- To update criteria to reside information for all patients' daily.

- Previous experience in an NHS acute hospital.

- Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and use own initiative
- Excellent customer service skills
- Awareness of health and safety standards including COSHH guidelines
- Good time management and organisational skills
