The London Borough of Lambeth is seeking a full-time Social Worker for the Connected Carer and SGO Post Order Support Team within their Fostering and Permanence Service. This role involves assessing and supporting temporary approved carers to become connected carers, while also providing ongoing support to Special Guardians in adherence to care planning regulations and national standards. About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Social Worker in the Fostering and Permanence Service (Connected Carer and Post Order Support Team).
Social Workers in this team assess temporary approved carers to become approved connected carers households and they are also responsible for supporting them in accordance with care planning regulations and national minimum standards (NMS 30).
Special Guardians are also supported with a model that ensures that there is stability, minimal interference, complaints, and breakdown.
The successful candidate will report to the Team Manager and be part of a creative fostering and permanence service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, social pedagogy and restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children.
Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of promoting and embedding good practice in relation to permanency planning, quality assurance, establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships and providing training and support to colleagues.
You will have a good understanding of the Children Act 1989 guidance and regulations, Adoption and Children Act 2002, the Fostering Services Regulations 2and Special Guardianship Regulations 2005 (as amended by the Special Guardianship (Amendment) Regulations 2.
