NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a permanent, full time position.
The shift pattern for this position is 8:50 17:00 9:50 18:00 Finish 30 minutes early on Wednesdays as per AFC.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a large acute teaching hospital and home to major specialist services such as National Burns & Plastics Centre; Cardiology, Gynaecology, Critical Care and Princess Royal Maternity Hospital. It has a capacity of around 1000 beds spread over a large campus situated on the outskirts of Glasgow City Centre. GRI sits under the North Sector Pharmacy Management Team; other sites include; Stobhill ACH, Gartnavel General, Beatson and Vale of Leven.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our friendly and supportive pharmacy team in the delivery of a safe and cost effective pharmacy service to our patients. You will have a key role in providing an efficient dispensing service and top up service to our wards and clinics including outlaying hospitals. You will be an integral member of the pharmacy team working in the main pharmacy department and at ward level liaising closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.
The post holders will contribute to the ongoing redesign of pharmacy services participating in dispensing discharge prescriptions both in the dispensary and at ward level, providing ward top up services, working within a very busy dispensary issuing and supplying drugs to all wards and clinic areas. This also applies to controlled drugs.
The post will be based with Glasgow Royal Infirmary working 37 hours per week .You will also participate in 2 shift patterns i.e 08.50 17.00 or 09.50 18.00; weekend rotas and Public Holidays. There may be the requirement to work on other sites within the North Sector
Three standard grades (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English, and basic IT skills are essential. Previous hospital pharmacy experience is desirable, however full training will be provided.
