NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a qualified and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join their Clinical Pharmacy Technician team in the Older People Services at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The role involves providing high-quality, patient-focused pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient group, including those with advancing frailty, stroke rehabilitation, and Parkinson’s disease. Key responsibilities include documenting medication histories, educating patients on high-risk medications, facilitating the admission and discharge processes, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, GPs, and Community Pharmacies. The position also entails supporting the development of Pharmacy Support Workers, Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians, and Trainee Pharmacists, with an emphasis on continuous professional development and advanced practice.

The ideal candidate must possess a qualification in Pharmaceutical Sciences, SVQ level 3, and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, along with an accredited Final Accuracy Checking Qualification. Strong communication skills, leadership capabilities, self-motivation, and a positive attitude are essential. The role requires availability for weekend work, extended hours, and public holidays, with part-time hours being pro-rata.
