The Role

To manage the merging of the NHSL and SLC’s alcohol and drug services in a designated South Lanarkshire locality.

To develop and implement policies, procedures and services in line with National Standards, South Lanarkshire Council and NHS Lanarkshire Policy.

To be responsible for the delivery of locally accessible community based alcohol and drug services and the delivery of treatment and care to a high standard to a defined case load of patients in a designated South Lanarkshire locality and to ensure provision of an inclusive comprehensive service to individuals and families, experiencing difficulties around experimental, recreational and problem substance misuse.

To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service (continuous responsibility 24/7) and to offer clinical/professional support, supervision and guidance to a combined health and social work staff group within locality teams. To work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to develop an integrated specialist service responsible to identified client and referrer needs.

What we'll need you to bring

• Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
• Registered Nurse/Social Worker with appropriate registration (e.g. NMC, SSSC)
• Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development.
• Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
• Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
• Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice
• Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualifications, including knowledge and understanding of guidelines in relation to treatment modalities and incorporate these within Patient Group Directions for Detoxification and Immunisation.
• The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Working knowledge of basic information technology.
• Driving license essential.
  
  

Staff should note that the term “operating at” degree/masters level corresponds to possessing an equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Community Addiction Recovery Service within Douglas Street Clinic.

The working pattern for this role - 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
