The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) management service, a national centre providing specialized care to children in northern England. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated and experienced senior nurse with relevant experience, excellent interpersonal skills, organisational skills and ability to work independently. As the nursing lead in our small friendly multi-disciplinary team you are integral in co-ordinating care and management of children and young people with PCD, providing a quality service. You will provide specialist advice, education and support to health professionals and parents /carers locally and work collaboratively with our established regional shared care teams.
Children are seen annually by the PCD management multi-disciplinary team at their local hospital and an individualised management plan for the child and family is produced as part of this assessment. We support home and school visits where needed and you will lead on the transition of young people in preparation for moving into adult services. As a national team member, you will work closely with the other PCD nurse specialists and our adult colleagues and participate in audit, research, and service development.

As the lead nurse in the PCD multi-disciplinary team you will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals, schools and parents/carers of these children. You will contribute to the management of these children in the acute setting, providing support and advice to regional shared care centres and primary health care teams.
