The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic B6 Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse for Ward 39, specializing in the care of elderly patients with fractured necks and femurs. The successful candidate will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, providing pre and post-operative care, collaborating with orthopaedic and geriatric teams, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Our patients have surgical interventions under the orthopaedic team and then recover under the care of the geriatric team who provide the ward with constant support, alongside our ward physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide assessments and rehabilitation and a plan for discharge.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the specialism of fractured NOF and elderly medicine, as well as gain experience in caring for patients who have acute medical illnesses. You will be working within a friendly and well-established multi-disciplinary team that is proud of the high standards of care we provide to all our patients.
