Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Band 5 Nurse to Join Nightingale/Woodpecker Ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced but supportive environment, caring for patients from multiple specialities.

This role involves caring for patients pre and post operatively, working within a large multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the children, young people and families.
  • Ability to promote family centred care and establish good relationships with children, young people and their families.
  • To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence
