Ward A5 is a busy surgical orthopedic unit which provide high quality care to acutely unwell patients. As the ward managers assistant you will be an integral part of the team.

You will need excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as well as a commitment to working within a team to develop and improve our services. If you are motivated and driven and want to be part of a team who are dedicated to improving the quality of care given to patients and enhance the patient experience.

We are seeking forward thinking individuals with a drive to improve the service we deliver within Acute Orthopedic trauma unit. Are you looking for a challenging but rewarding administration role? If so, we’re looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Ward Assistant to support the Ward Manager and Multidisciplinary team to complete the ward administration tasks on a daily basis.

You will need to be a natural organizer and confident communicator with excellent administration, typing and IT skills, together with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.

Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email, including Outlook and diary management is essential. You will need to be educated to a GCSE level and NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent with excellent typing skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages. Whilst training will be provided for certain IT packages used you will need to be confident in the use of several systems that will need to be used daily. In return we’ll give you full support for your ongoing professional development.

You need to be able to demonstrate excellent time keeping and organisational skills and be able to work within a team with the Trust Core Values and Behaviours.

You will work closely with the Ward Manager and the Multi-disciplinary team in the department along with colleagues throughout the Trust who have liaison with the Ward Manager and department such as Healthroster, NHS Professionals and Estates.
