The Trust is seeking a speciality doctor to join the Chapman Barker Unit Team. The Trust regards this as an opportunity to further develop the functioning of the team and offers an opportunity for the post-holder to develop their skills and expertise in the management of physical health-related disorders commonly found in specialist inpatient detoxification units.
The post holder will be expected to medically assess and treat patients who are undergoing medically assisted withdrawal from alcohol, opioids and other substances, often in parallel. The post-holder should be confident in managing a range of physical health disorders, including both those related to addiction disorders as well as other medical conditions. Knowledge or familiarity of working with people with co-occurring mental health conditions would be an advantage, but a positive approach to those with mental health disorders is key to the role.
