The role of Head of Service for Primary Care (NHSL 197790) with NHS Lothian in Edinburgh involves leading the implementation of strategies for Primary Care and District Nursing services within the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership. The post holder will manage NHS Lothian services and contractual relationships with independent contractors, overseeing budgets and ensuring targets are met. The role requires a strong focus on providing high-quality primary care access to the Edinburgh population and facilitating collaboration with other NHS services to prevent hospital admissions and enable early discharges.
Additionally, the Head of Service will be responsible for developing strategic initiatives and transforming primary care and district nursing services to enhance quality, safety, and early intervention. The post holder must engage in efforts to prevent harm and reduce future service demand. A PVG Scheme membership is necessary, and NHS Scotland encourages applications from diverse backgrounds to ensure an inclusive workforce.
