Job Overview

INTERNAL ONLY

We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join the Pharmacy team at Royal Gwent Hospital as a Pharmacy Assistant.

The Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH) is an 400-bed hospital situated in Newport, just 11 miles from Cardiff and close to the Brecon Beacons and South Wales coastline. We are a forward thinking and innovative department. Pharmacy enjoys excellent multidisciplinary links within the Health Board and we deliver clinical services to a wide range of specialities and are committed to the professional development of our strong team. The Health Board has automated pharmacy systems and a comprehensive medicines management service including electronic discharge.

Main duties of the job

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD

The post holder will primarily work in the pharmacy distribution and dispensary sections of the department, ensuring that medications are sent in a timely and organised manner to wards and departments throughout Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Applicants will be expected to be able to have good awareness of stock control and have a high level of computer literacy. To be eligible you must be enthusiastic and self-motivated and should have a good standard of general education.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
