NHS Lanarkshire is seeking to recruit a Clinical Support Worker - Theatres in East Kilbride, aimed at individuals who may or may not have prior clinical experience. Successful applicants will join a multidisciplinary team providing essential patient care in a theatre environment under the guidance of registered nurses or Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs). The role entails direct and indirect patient care duties, requiring effective communication and the ability to work independently in a busy setting.
Candidates are expected to hold an SVQ III in peri-operative or healthcare or be working towards it, with training provided for those who do not meet these qualifications. - SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
- Applicants with no previous clinical healthcare experience will be treated in accordance with Annex 21 Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Experience of working within the Theatre environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the role and working within a Theatre setting
