Lionheart Domiciliary Care Services Limited is seeking a Care Assistant in West Sussex to provide essential personal care and support to service users. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, and light household duties, while also administering medications and maintaining accurate care records. The role emphasises fostering independence among service users and delivering companionship and emotional support, all while adhering to care plans and regulatory standards.
Candidates should ideally have experience in domiciliary care, though it is not mandatory, and must possess strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Flexibility in working hours is required, and while a full UK driving license and relevant care qualifications are preferred, they are not essential. - Provide personal care services including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Help with mobility, including transferring patients from bed to chair or assisting with walking.
- Support with meal preparation and feeding.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor medication schedules.
- Assist with light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to service users.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including any changes in the patient’s condition or behavior.
- Follow care plans tailored to the specific needs and preferences of service users.
- Promote independence by encouraging service users to carry out tasks on their own when possible.
- Ensure all care practices comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies.
- Previous experience in domiciliary or home care is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate, caring, and empathetic nature with a passion for helping others.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in working hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required).
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential.
