Cornerstone is seeking female Support Practitioners to join their team in Stonehaven on a permanent or relief basis, offering between 16 to 39 hours of work per week. The role involves supporting individuals with disabilities and additional support needs in their shared home, assisting with daily living tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and engaging in hobbies and activities. The organisation values personal qualities over qualifications, providing training and support for candidates to develop their skills, including funding for an SVQ qualification.
Candidates should possess a caring attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Shift patterns include a range of hours between 7:30 AM and 9:30 PM, with the potential for sleepovers and weekend work, for which additional compensation is provided. Applicants need to be capable of traveling to the Stonehaven area, as public transport options are limited. Successful candidates will need to undergo a background check and register with the SSSC within three months of starting. The position is open to women only, as defined by the Equality Act 2010, to meet the needs of the individuals supported.

The main focus of your role will be support the individuals with all aspects of their daily living, including, shopping, finances, meal preparation, housework and personal care.
You'll also support the individuals with their hobbies and interests too so will find yourself enjoying time at the cinema and theatre, going to the football to watch Aberdeen FC, getting creative in the kitchen and various other indoor and outdoor activities too.
About You
At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills to be successful in your new role. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7 qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
If you don't live in the Stonehaven area and are not a driver, we will need you to be mindful of the location of our service and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as there are limited public transport links available that fit with all of our shift patterns.
All we’ll need you to bring is: -
As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual the shifts will usually fall into patterns between the hours of hours. Sleepovers, weekends and public holidays would also for part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Depending on your size of contract, you will work around 2-3 sleepovers per month. Our sleepovers don't form part of your contracted hours, you'll receive an additional payment of £96 for every sleepover shift you work!
