The Dual Diagnosis Practitioner role at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust involves supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in six inpatient rehabilitation wards. This position, established through a collaboration between the SLAM Addictions Clinical Academic Group and South London Partnership, aims to create an integrated service model tailored to the needs of these patients. The practitioner will work alongside nursing and psychology teams to implement best practices in care, deliver clinical assessments and interventions, and develop staff competencies in addressing dual diagnosis issues.

The role also emphasises collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure safe environments, minimize substance use on Trust premises, and enhance the overall recovery outcomes of service users. Additionally, the practitioner will focus on personal continuous professional development while engaging in teaching, leadership, and service development activities. This fixed-term position is available until June 2025 and can be considered for secondment opportunities.
