The Guardian of Safe Working (GoSW) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust will play a vital independent role focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of resident doctors. This includes upholding the safeguards related to working hours and clinical duties as outlined in the Terms and Conditions of Service (2016). The GoSW will champion safe working practices, advise clinical teams, chair the Resident Doctor Forum, and represent the Trust in various local and national discussions. Additionally, the role involves actively promoting awareness of safety issues, supporting trainee doctors, and ensuring compliance with safe rostering.
