Main duties of the job

Were looking for compassionate and driven Patient Navigators to join our team on a zero-hours contract. This is a flexible role with hours depending on demand, providing essential support to our medical team and patients.. This exciting role offers flexibility with positions available at our different medical centres in Leeds.The base office could be at The Light Surgery, Westgate Surgery or Shakespeare Walk-in Centre.

Job responsibilities

As a Patient Navigator, youll be the bridge that connects patients with the care and resources they need, providing support and guidance throughout their healthcare journey. In addition to providing patients with a positive experience , you will ensure the smooth running of the surgery, supporting our team to deliver outstanding care. We understand how important your role is and will value your contributions every step of the way.

What Were Looking For

  • A confident communicator with a friendly, patient, and professional attitude.
  • Someone who can handle a fast-paced, demanding environment with ease.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or administrative roles is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and visitors, managing check-ins, and providing appointment information.
  • Answering phone calls and handling patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
  • Scheduling and managing appointments using our system.
  • Processing prescription requests from patients and pharmacies.
  • Handling patient queries in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters, with accuracy.
  • Keeping the reception area tidy and ensuring smooth handovers for colleagues.
  • Completing administrative tasks such as patient registrations and updates.

What Youll Bring

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • EMIS system proficiency- experience using the EMIS clinical software to manage patient records, appointments, and other administrative tasks
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling patient information.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and basic office software.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
