Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join their Community Stroke Service MDT in Sheffield.
The role involves providing specialized assessment and therapy for a complex caseload of adults.
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative and innovative team of approximately 55 staff, focusing on quality care and continuous improvement.

An exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist has arisen to join the Sheffield Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service working in community within the Community Stroke Service MDT.
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and progressive team that values research and service improvement to work with patients and teams. They will provide highly specialist Speech and Language assessment, therapy and support to a highly complex caseload of adults referred into the Community Stroke Service.
The successful post holder will provide clinical Speech & Language Therapy and be part of the SLT stroke pathway team.
The SLT service across both the acute and community teams in STH has approximately 55 staff (47 therapists, 7 assistants and 4 secretarial staff) (41.23wte).
The SLT teams are highly motivated to provide a quality service to their patients, they are research active and embrace innovation. The service has established processes for supervision and supports personal and professional development.
Applicants must have:
- Attained a level of experience proportionate to the competencies detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification, which would normally entail extensive postgraduate experience.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
