The post holder is expected to organize their workday, remain accessible during working hours, and work towards obtaining approval under the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010. This includes potentially providing clinical advice to Primary Care Mental Health Services. Ultimately, the role emphasises the importance of teamwork, communication across departments, and adherence to clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Provide senior clinical input to the assessment and management of patients within the CMHT by, but not exclusively, managing outpatient clinics, collaborating in Care and Treatment Planning reviews, and offering advice and support to team members in managing patients.
Participate in managerial and clinical team meetings.

The post holder will be encouraged to gain and maintain approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 as soon as possible after appointment (if not already approved); he or she will also be encouraged to gain approval as an Approved Clinician. He or she will be required to fulfil responsibilities under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2. This may require providing clinical advice to the Primary Care Mental Health Service.
