It is essential that the post holder has a full understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times Targets and the impact these have on both patient and Trust.
It is very important that the post holder has excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance. It is also essential to be able to use your own initiative to resolve problems and also work as part of a team in order to meet personal and business objectives.
About usThe postholder will be expected to track suspected and diagnosed cancer patients through their hospital journey. This involves documenting each step in the Somerset Cancer Register and escalating any investigations or appointments which fall outside of the agreed timescales. It is imperative each pathway is streamlined so that patients can be treated within the nationally agreed Cancer Waiting Times.
