The Assistant Practitioner role at CSH Surrey's Children's Integrated Continence Service in Leatherhead involves providing evidence-based care and support to children aged 4-19 with various continence issues, including daytime enuresis and constipation. This full-time, permanent position includes tasks such as conducting non-complex assessments, implementing care interventions under the supervision of a registered practitioner, and collaborating with health and educational professionals. Candidates will be part of a motivated team focusing on continuous skill development through in-house and external training, supporting children and families in diverse community settings such as homes and schools. Responsibilities include contributing to the assessment, planning, and evaluation of care interventions, serving as a resource for other caregivers, and participating in the service's educational programs while maintaining a professional, confidential approach. The role offers the opportunity for job flexibility, with consideration given to job share arrangements.

Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.

We are looking for an Assistant Practitioner to join our Surrey wide Childrens Integrated Continence Service, based at Leatherhead Clinic. This is a full-time permanent post, Monday to Friday, job share and flexible hours also considered.

You will work as part of an experienced, motivated skill-mixed team providing evidence-based continence and advice and support to promote continence to children ages 4-19 years. This includes continence assessments, providing advice and support and reviewing progress for children and young people. The service is delivered in a variety of settings Surrey wide supporting children and young people including home visits, schools, special schools and other community settings. Telephone support is also part of this service. The role includes working in partnership with health colleagues, education and other agencies to promote continence.

We provide in house and external training to develop your skills within the community setting and within childrens continence to support the children and young people in Surrey.

6. Maintaining accurate, clear, concise and contemporaneous records and communicating information to members of the Team as necessary .

7. Liaising with external agencies with regards to follow up and providing feedback to registered practitioners as appropriate

1. Undertake non-complex continence assessment/reassessment in community and out-patient clinic settings as required

5. Undertake non-complex re-catheterisation; male and female urethral catheterisation and supra-pubic catheter changes.
6. To assist with delivery of a continence service training programme for parents and carers.
