Band 6: £44,806 to £53,134 a year Per Annum Inclusive of HCAS  PERMANENT 
The infection & inclusion nurse is expected to work in UCLH and in the community, across London, as service requirements dictate.

The infection and inclusion nurse will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team. They will demonstrate a high level of clinical skills and have allocated clinical time to run nurse led clinics in the community, focusing on holistic health assessments and care planning. Nurses will work within a team, attending the clinics together with nursing, clinical support workers and medical staff. Care planning and case management will form a large part of the role.

The infection & inclusion nurse will contribute to the development of the service, in partnership with the wider team. They will have an awareness of the needs of this population and after induction and training, the infection & inclusion nurse will be assessing both adults and paediatric patients. Experience of working with children and young people is desirable.

The infection & inclusion nurse is expected to work in UCLH and in the community, across London, as service requirements dictate. The Respond service is operational Monday to Friday during standard working hours (09.00-17.00) with flexibility as required.

The post holder will report directly to the Lead Nurse who in turn reports to the Divisional Matron and Divisional General Manager. Within the Respond team there is a dedicated administration team, clinical support worker(s), clinical lead, Respond specific GPs and clinical research fellows, as well as operational and divisional support.

We work closely with the infectious diseases team within UCLH (adult and paediatric), the infectious diseases outpatient department, GP practices within the community, initial accommodation managers and support workers, health and social care practitioners including early help teams, family support, school nursing and voluntary/ third sector organisations

The RESPOND team is a small multi-disciplinary team that was set up in 2021. This project has progressed and changed rapidly with the changing needs of the service and is currently transitioning into a sustainable service.

The team strives to provide inclusion health forpeople seeking asylum and refugees across London. This role provides an opportunity to further develop the service and enhance the service.

  1. Delivering high quality, holistic, trauma informed, inclusive care to this patient population.

  1. Identification and management of the specific health and wellbeing needs of this population.

  1. Increasing access to mainstream health services through education, health promotion and empowerment of this population.

  1. Exemplars of good practice and sharing learning within the trust and with the wider health and social care teams.

  1. Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of this population as the service evolves.
