The role of Pharmacy Technician at Burgess Hill Villages PCN with Alliance for Better Care CIC involves supporting an established Clinical Pharmacist team to enhance the effective and efficient use of medicines within primary care. The position is part of the NHS's Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme, aimed at improving patient safety and reducing demands on general practice. Responsibilities encompass clinical tasks, such as conducting medication reviews and supporting patients with their medicines, as well as administrative duties that ensure operational excellence in pharmacy services. The post holder will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and community pharmacy professionals to optimize patient outcomes and enhance prescribing processes.

In addition to clinical and technical support, this role emphasises training and development, including supporting practice staff with medication queries and helping to improve systems related to repeat prescribing and medicines reconciliation. The Pharmacy Technician will also be involved in public health initiatives, promote electronic prescribing systems, and contribute to quality improvements within the practice environment. With a focus on professional development, the post holder will engage in training and supervision to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care and ensure compliance with relevant policies, ultimately aiming to enhance the integration of care across health services.
