The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in Wrexham is seeking a Thrombosis Specialist Nurse to join their innovative Thrombosis Service Team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. This is a Band 6 Development position that allows progression to Band 7 upon completion of an independent prescribing course and relevant competencies, or a direct Band 7 role for candidates with existing thrombosis service experience. The successful candidate will manage outpatient care for patients with suspected and actual deep vein thrombosis, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and provide specialized education and training for healthcare staff. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable.

In this role, the nurse will coordinate patient assessment and management, offer expert guidance on anticoagulation, and contribute to the development of care pathways while engaging in research and audits to enhance DVT care practices. They will also serve as a key resource for patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the treatment process.
