Band 8a: £53,755 to £60,504 a year per annum  PERMANENT 
Providing inpatient assessment of structural heart disease patients.

The structural heart disease service at the Trent Cardiac Centre is expanding. If you are a skilled, passionate and highly motivated experienced cardiology nurse and are interested in an opportunity to further develop your clinical skills, this could be the perfect job for you.

As a senior structural nurse practitioner the role will include:

Pre-assessment for patients undergoing structural heart disease procedures, such as TAVI, LAAO and Mitral Clip interventions.

Providing inpatient assessment of structural heart disease patients

Participation in the structural heart disease MDT and be a part of the clinical consideration of the patient's suitability for trans-catheter heart valve intervention to ensure timely clinical decision making for each patient.

To lead the nursing component of the TAVI / structural heart intervention service, demonstrating advanced interpersonal skills to achieve successful negotiation with senior members of the multi-professional team and other stake holders. As a newly created team, the post holder will be responsible for the development of the structural nurse team.

Management of the structural nurse team, ensuring that training, learning and development needs of the team are met as well as undertaking IPR, performance management, roster and sickness management.

Audits of the service and service improvement projects

TAVI / Structural Heart Intervention Lead Nurse is to provide professional and clinical leadership of the complete clinical pathway (elective and in-patient) for patients being considered for / undergoing / recovering from Transcatheter Heart Valve / Structural Heart Intervention. The post holder will utilise expert knowledge and clinical competence to support and lead team of clinical nurse specialists and wider multi-professional teams within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, referring District General Hospitals from East Midlands and Primary care ensuring excellent standards of clinical care is provided for this complex patient group.
