We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, part-time General Practice Nurse to join our team of Nurses and HCAs. Remuneration will be equivalent to Band6 depending on skills, experience and education. Salary and working hours to be agreed. We would like to meet someone who has completed educational preparation to work in general practice, and who has knowledge and skills in all aspects of general practice nursing.
We are looking for someone with skills and competence to provide;
treatment room care such as for wound assessment and management, ECGs, spirometry, anticoagulant monitoring etc
support for management of long-term conditions, including diabetes and respiratory conditions
vaccinations and immunisations for all ages, including the childhood vaccination programme.
In particular, we are looking for someone with an interest and qualifications in sexual health and cervical screening.
Job summary
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of general practice nursing services to the registered practice population. The focus of the role is on the provision of evidence-based care in respect of disease prevention and early detection, disease monitoring and management, health promotion, supporting acute health needs and management plans, and providing proactive support and shared management for patients with long-term conditions. As an autonomous and competent practitioner the post holder is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management and monitoring of patients health needs. In addition, they will work collaboratively within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, support the delivery of policy and procedures, and provide nursing leadership where required.
