Oxford Health is looking for a 1 WTE consultant psychiatrist, who is an experienced and dynamic medical professional, to provide clinical leadership to the Adult Community Mental Health team. The team is part of the well-established South Oxon Adults Community Mental Health Team.
We offer a £15,000 recruitment bonus and a relocation allowance up to £8,000 to eligible successful candidates.

The consultant will provide direct clinical supervision and line management with opportunities to develop your skills in these areas.

You will have experience of working in General Adult Psychiatry and have great interpersonal skills working with colleagues to work collaboratively with our team managers, and to provide leadership and clinical expertise to our highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary teams.
The Consultant will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the community mental health team. The post holder will have responsibility for those patients seen by himself/herself, together with those patients seen by medical staff directly supervised by the post holder.
The post holder will assess new routine, urgent and emergency referrals from other agencies alongside other clinicians, provide consultation to non-medical clinicians and offer ongoing management for patients requiring longer term care.
About usThe Consultant will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the team. Responsibility for the physical health care of patients usually remains with the GP. The post holder will have responsibility for those patients seen by himself/herself, together with those patients seen by medical staff directly supervised by the post holder. The post holder will work alongside the team manager and the other Consultant Psychiatrists in the team to ensure the effective functioning and development of the service. Contribution to developing and delivering improved clinical services as outlined in the National Service Framework for Mental Health and the Mental Health Long Term Plan. Involvement in Primary care network development and partnership working is an important part of this job.
