The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking a Senior Clinical Photographer to join its Medical Illustration Team, which primarily focuses on oncology-related services. This role involves capturing clinical photographs of patients in various settings, including studios, wards, clinics, and operating theatres, ensuring images are produced to professional standards for diagnostic, teaching, and research purposes. The successful candidate will manage the clinical photography team, oversee workflows, maintain photography quality, and communicate complex information regarding image use and patient rights. A degree in clinical photography or equivalent experience is required, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Senior Clinical Photographer will also engage in non-clinical photography for educational and promotional purposes, manage imaging equipment, maintain compliance with protocols and policies, and provide training for junior staff. The role emphasises patient-centered care and the ethical handling of sensitive information, requiring a sound understanding of professional standards in medical photography and an awareness of cultural sensitivities. The post holder will play an integral role in the department's continuous improvement and strategic planning efforts.
