We welcome enthusiastic and committed therapeutic radiographers to apply for this position within our innovative and friendly working environment. To ensure accurate planning and delivery of Radiotherapy and Gamma Knife treatments as prescribed, with appropriate care of the patient with a cancer and non-cancerous diagnosis. To assist the Band 7/8 Radiographer in charge and deputise as necessary. To be involved with the development of Gamma Knife Services. The post holder will be required to work some evenings, weekends, bank holidays and to participate in an on call rota. All staff are involved in the development of the service and we actively encourage continual professional development including opportunities for post graduate learning to develop skills to promote patient centred care. Recognise any faults and malfunctions with equipment within the department and report them to the appropriate people. Analyse systematically and evaluate all data and information relevant to patients' treatments ensuring the patient and their relatives aretreated with dignity and respect at all times. Anticipate and identify common and complex treatment related side effects, offering advice and where necessary refer to the relevanthealth care professional To be able to justify the patients' treatment based on theoretical knowledge Be able to accurately and safely set-up patients on the Gamma Knife machine for treatment To provide, receive and use sensitive information maintaining patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring that accurate treatment records are kept at all times Provide information to patients and their carers about their treatment and expected side effects. To communicate accurate and timely information with all other disciplines involved in providing high quality radiotherapy treatmentincluding communicating with the patients GP's by producing end of treatment summaries to send to them.
