All patients are Thames Hospice patients and therefore we always support the patient and their family irrespective of our individual role.

Role specific




As a UK registered nurse the Inpatient Services Manager has the additional responsibilities:

  • To provide clinical and operational leadership and management for the in-patient unit, ensuring team members are of a high quality and put patients and their families at the centre of everything we do.
  • Under the guidance of the Chief Nurse, set up new services, implement necessary changes and take actions in response to feedback.
  • To take accountability for delivering care with agility through strong partnership with other clinical leaders .
  • Overall oversight for all aspects of people management including managing complex employee casework.
  • To ensure clinical standards are delivered to CQC expectations and research is undertaken to ensure we are always delivering best practice.
  • To lead on safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Chief Nurse and hold responsibility for elements of the registered manager role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and IT systems used for rostering, incident reporting and electronic record keeping.
  • To contribute to the clinical on call rota.
  • Proven track record in management with expertise in clinical leadership.
