We are looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly, brilliant Front of House Team. This is a busy and challenging role with opportunities for career progression and one which will require you to be an organised, customer focused person with good IT skills - this is essential. Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery is a plus but not essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
We are looking for someone to cover 8am - 1pm5 days a week and someone who will be able to help cover when colleagues are away.
- To use EMIS WEB computer system to make appointments for patients in accordance with the current surgery appointment policy.
- To handle queries both in person and over the telephone according to protocol and signpost according to protocol. In circumstances where a query cannot be answered to make appropriate referral.
- To ensure, along with other members of the reception team, that the reception area is always manned, and the telephones are answered promptly.
- Ensure waiting area is kept tidy, and notice board and tabletop leaflet displays are updated regularly.
- Take requests for visits, ensuring all required information is recorded accurately on and passed to the relevant clinician in a timely manner according to protocol

- To undertake mandatory training and comply with all surgery regulations and procedures.
- To attend practice and staff meetings as required.
- To be aware of procedures to evacuate patients in case of emergency.
- To secure the building, setting the exit alarm when last to leave the premises, when applicable.
- To adhere to the Health & Safety policy.
