The Nursing Associate role at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust within the Trauma and Orthopaedics team involves delivering high-quality patient care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, including orthopaedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals. The position requires a qualified and registered nursing associate, who will be supported by an initial supernumerary period on the ward and has opportunities for further development through skills study sessions and formal qualifications in orthopaedics. Flexibility for variable shifts and strong communication, time-management skills, and the ability to use one’s initiative are essential.

Responsibilities include providing delegated clinical care, supporting team nursing, maintaining electronic patient records, mentoring care assistants, and responding to clinical emergencies. The role also emphasises the importance of ensuring a positive patient experience while respecting individual customs and needs. Additionally, the Nursing Associate will play a part in quality assurance initiatives, patient admission and discharge processes, and maintaining effective communication within the healthcare team, all while promoting the values of the Trust.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
