The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join their Occupational Therapy Team at Furness General Hospital. This position involves working within the inpatient surgical and orthopaedic wards, as well as the Emergency Department (ED), where the post holder will manage a specialist caseload and provide tailored occupational therapy interventions aimed at facilitating safe patient care and discharge. The role includes assessing patients in the ED, supporting other therapists, and collaborating with community therapy teams.

Candidates will need strong clinical knowledge in surgical and physical rehabilitation and will receive training to develop skills in complex manual handling. The position encourages professional development, with opportunities for in-service training and CPD. The successful applicant will work within a motivated team and provide support and supervision to junior colleagues and students. Additionally, the role is eligible for a relocation package, with a commitment to remain in the position for at least two years.
