The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) for a development opportunity in Wakefield. This role is part of a framework for Band 5 to Band 6 progression and is suited for experienced, qualified SLTs who have completed NQSLT competencies and can manage a dysphagia caseload autonomously.

Key responsibilities include providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, particularly in settings like frailty, dementia, and oncology. The post holder will collaborate with a team of skilled SLTs, engage in complex case reviews, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings. They will also have opportunities for leadership development, clinical supervision, and the chance to contribute to service enhancement and training programs.

Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical and caseload management skills, be proactive in clinical governance, and commit to ongoing professional development. The position offers a supportive framework with the potential to advance to full Band 6 responsibilities within 6-11 months.
