Job description
This appointment is for a full time Consultant in the Specialist Psychotherapy Service. The post holder will be responsible for providing medical leadership at the Specialist Psychotherapy Service in Sheffield and will be Psychotherapy Tutor for the South Yorkshire Psychiatry Rotation.

Provide medical leadership to Specialist Psychotherapy Service
Provide clinical leadership jointly with the band 8c Consultant Clinical Psychologist across the service, as part of the leadership team.
Attendance and leadership at team and governance meetings
Supporting clinical pathway development work
Provision of psychotherapy assessment
Formulation and delivery of appropriate therapeutic and pharmacological interventions
Attending multidisciplinary and multi-modality triage meetings
Supervision of staff grade doctor
Train Higher Trainee in Medical Psychotherapy when available
Psychotherapy Tutor - organising psychotherapy training for core and higher psychiatry trainees as per RCPsych requirements for the South Yorkshire rotation
Providing complex case consultations and formulations to other services within the SHSC
Completion of administrative tasks related to clinical responsibilities
Participation in the city wide out of hours on call rota
There is a requirement to support the 9am-5pm Mental Health Act assessment rota, this is approximately 1 day per month
Teaching of core psychiatric trainees and undergraduate medical students
