NHS Blood & Transplant are pleased to advertise this opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking Regional Matron to join our Nursing Care Quality Team. As a Regional Matron, you will be an integral part of both the education and care quality agenda.

There are opportunities within this role to influence clinical care, lead on specific projects and develop as senior nurse. The Nursing Care Quality Team here at NHSBT, is growing and developing, and we are looking for the right individual to join us in supporting the work of the NCQT team agenda, lead on initiatives and influence clinical practice.

The requirements of this post may be subject to change dependent on service need. The region you will be covering is our North and Central region so you should expect to travel throughout the region as and when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and promoting corporate nursing practice and donor care policies.
• You will be accountable for professional, clinical, and educational standards in their designated geographical area and be the point of reference for all nursing professional development issues.
• Providing line management and decisive operational and clinical leadership for the Blood Collection teams, promoting innovation and managing change to improve service delivery.
• Evaluating current practice and produce action plans designed to support quality improvement.
• Demonstrating advanced competence in complex decision making, assessment and management of clinical needs within the practice of donor care. This includes delegated responsibility and authority to take reasonable measures to remedy shortcomings, which impact negatively on the clinical environment and donor experience.
• Providing expert professional nursing advice and support to nurses working within the directorate. Providing strategic clinical advice to the Area Managers and Area Matrons on matters impacting on clinical care, operational performance, and the clinical environment.
