The Patient Transport Service (PTS) Volunteer role with Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust offers individuals in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire the opportunity to assist NHS patients by providing non-emergency transport to medical appointments. Volunteers will help eligible patients who are able to walk but may need assistance to and from hospitals and healthcare facilities, contributing to their health and wellbeing. Applicants must be over 18, hold a valid UK driving license, and have access to a suitable vehicle.

Volunteers will receive comprehensive training, a uniform, and a mileage allowance for their service and are asked to commit to volunteering for at least 2-3 days per month. The recruitment process includes an informal interview, a driving assessment, and a two-day induction course. Successful candidates will be part of a dedicated team, delivering essential support to patients in their community.
