The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Pre-Operative Assessment Unit at Solihull Hospital, in anticipation of the new Elective Surgical Hub opening in November 2024. Candidates should have 18 months to 2 years of post-registration experience and a commitment to supporting patients along the peri-operative pathway. This role requires taking ownership of a clinical caseload, conducting thorough patient assessments, coordinating pre-operative investigations, and providing essential information about surgery and post-operative care.

The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering high standards of patient-centered care, improving patient pathways, and fostering teamwork within a multi-professional environment. As a nurse-led service, comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided. The post holder will also be responsible for guiding junior team members and embodying the Trust's values of Kindness, Connection, and Boldness. Applicants must have completed all undergraduate training and be in the process of joining the NMC register.
