The Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London is offering a 6-month locum Supervised Training Post in Ophthalmic Pathology for Senior Registrars or Junior Consultants in Pathology. This position provides an opportunity to engage deeply with eye pathology in a supportive environment, as part of the National Specialist Ophthalmic Pathology Service. The role includes responsibilities such as performing and supervising macroscopic dissections of ophthalmic specimens, preparing diagnostic reports for consultant review, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. The post-holder will be expected to deliver high-quality diagnostic reporting while being supervised by experienced consultant staff, with no formal on-call or weekend duties required.

In addition to diagnostic responsibilities, the role emphasises professional development, including participation in continuous professional education and engagement in national quality assurance schemes. The post-holder may also have opportunities for teaching, research, and involvement in service improvement projects, potentially including an honorary appointment at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
