Perinatal Principal Clinical Psychologist in Stoke-on-Trent inStoke-on-Trent PUBLISHED TUE 11 FEB 2025 Jump to job information section
Job description
Are you a Clinical Psychologist who is interested in taking up a leadership post in perinatal mental health?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our expanding team in Stoke and North Staffs.
You will join a well established team of psychological professionals working across the Parent and Baby Unit (PBU; community perinatal service) and Lotus (maternal mental health service). The team is made up of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, 3 Senior Clinical Psychologists, 1 Specialist Psychological Therapist and an Assistant Psychologist, with further investment expected in 2024/ 2025 to grow the psychology provision further.
The PBU is a specialist perinatal community team and day service, where psychology is well integrated with other psychologically minded professionals. The Lotus team is a psychology led maternal mental health team, specialising in birth trauma, tokophobia and loss.
The psychological provision is shared across both teams and is well established with clear working practices in place. We successfully work without holding a waiting list, ensuring timely access to psychological therapy. Our capacity model also allows psychological professionals to focus time on enhancing psychologically informed care within the team (through supervision, teaching, consultation).
About us
The focus for the post holder will be to maintain and develop these working practices as the provision grows, managing psychology capacity across the teams and providing clinical leadership to the PBU MDT and to the psychological professionals within it.
You will work closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to achieve this.
We have so far been able to make use of significant CPD opportunities for psychological professionals in the team.
We welcome anyone with established perinatal experience, or those who have not worked in perinatal mental health and have a keen interest in joining the perinatal community.
