Band 8a: £53,755 to £60,504 a year gross per annum  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY

The Staff Support service is seeking an 8a applied psychologist to join a team of experienced professionals, delivering mental health support to people working at NSFT. This is a new post and follows a reconfiguration of the service to meet the emerging needs of the organisation. The successful candidate will work with an 8b clinical lead psychologist, TRiM practitioners, RMNs, psychotherapists and a research lead. The work is overseen by a consultant-grade psychologist and sits alongside our portfolio of successful Talking Therapies offerings in Norfolk & Waveney and Suffolk.

This role involves direct clinical care of staff experiencing a variety of mental health presentations, often following difficult incidents at work.

Duties of the role include:

  • To provide a high quality specialist clinical psychology service for people with mental health problems across NSFT.
  • To work within professional guidelines and exercise shared responsibility for the governance of psychological practice within the Service. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and intervention provided by clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
  • To undertake specialised clinical work within the Service which will include assessment, direct and indirect intervention, supervision, training and consultancy.
  • To provide specialist knowledge and consultation to staff at all levels and contribute to their development.
  • To utilise research and training skills and knowledge for clinical audit, policy and service development, research activity and other programmes within the Service.

This will require face to face working with individuals and therefore, while some hybrid working may be possible, it is not a remote working position.
