CANCER GASTROENTEROLOGIST INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE NHS
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist for a substantive 10PA position in Reading. The role involves providing clinical and managerial leadership within the Gastroenterology service, focusing on endoscopy procedures and outpatient clinics for various patient categories, including urgent and specialist cases. The successful candidate will work primarily at the Reading site and West Berkshire Community Hospital, with opportunities for additional clinics at other local locations. The Trust is particularly interested in candidates with special skills in areas such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), intestinal failure, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), bowel cancer screening, and advanced endoscopic techniques like ERCP and EUS.

Key responsibilities include delivering and managing outpatient and endoscopy services, collaborating with fellow consultants to enhance service delivery, and supporting the training of registrars and nursing staff. Candidates are expected to participate actively in departmental governance meetings and educational supervision.
