The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a Health Records Access Co-Ordinator to join their Health Records Access Team, which handles around 5,000 requests annually for patient information, including Subject Access Requests and requests from external agencies like police and courts. The role requires a strong understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, exceptional communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities include processing patient information requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, liaising with requestors, and maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive data.

The ideal candidate will have experience with health records, knowledge of Information Governance, and be adept at navigating various electronic systems. They should demonstrate judgment in reviewing requests and possess the ability to handle sensitive and potentially distressing information. Additional duties entail managing records, collaborating with other departments, providing training to new staff, and participating in procedural changes within the department, all while adhering to trust policies and maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and security.
