Band 7: £46,148 to £52,809 a year pa pro rata  PERMANENT 

The post holder is responsible for delivering expert nursing care and providing highly specialised advice within the speciality of urology services and will lead, co-ordinate and evaluate the delivery of a specialist urology nursing service across primary, secondary and tertiary care. They will be the first point of contact for patients during investigation, diagnosis and treatment. They will provide information and support to patients and their families and act as the patients' advocate throughout their cancer or non-cancer journey.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will support the Matron in ensuring high standards of nursing care are provided to all patients receiving care in the specialty.

The post holder is responsible for delivering highly specialised advice and nursing care within the speciality of the urology services and will lead, co-ordinate and evaluate the delivery of the specialist urology nursing service across primary, secondary and tertiary care. The post holder will be the first point of contact for patients during investigation, diagnosis and treatment for those patients referred to, and who are currently under, the care of the urology service.

They will provide information and support to patients and their families and act as the patients' advocate throughout their cancer or non-cancer journey.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will support the Matron in ensuring high standards of nursing care are provided to all patients receiving care in the urology specialty. The CNS will be ward or department based and will also provide specialist education and training to staff in the multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that her/his specialist service is reflective of the Trust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and will support the Matron and Medical Service Head in achieving the KPIs relevant to her/his area of specialist care.

The post holder will provide professional advice and leadership to members of the multidisciplinary team and assist them by providing clinical knowledge and support to deliver elements of specialist care.
