Phlebotomist required, up to 25 hours per week.
We are currently looking to recruit one permanent Phlebotomist to join our busy team. Working independently, the Phlebotomist is responsible for extracting blood samples in line with organisational procedures and administering the processing of all blood sampling requests in an efficient and precise manner.
The Phlebotomist role involves interacting with a significant amount of patients within their home / care home setting with restricted time scales. It is important that the post holder is able to remain calm under pressure, is efficient, organised and can be considered by patients and colleagues as friendly, caring and able to put others at ease quickly.
Days of Work: Monday - Friday (Friday will have to be one of the working days)
Annual Leave - 27 days + Bank Holidays
Probationary Period - 3 Months
We are looking for someone who already holds the phlebotomy qualification and who ideally has experience of working in a similar role.

Job Summary:
Working under the direct supervision of the business transformation lead and the team leader strictly in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols. The post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from housebound patients and patients in care / nursing homes. Patients will be referred directly into the service from one of several GP Practices in the Leeds South & East Area. They will also be responsible for carrying out blood pressure measurements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample
Collection of sample(s)s of blood in accordance with training and procedures
Checking patients BP and recording in patient file
Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers
Accurate, labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity using ICE
Checking patient identification against GP/nurse request and confirming with patient whenever possible
Recording collection of blood sample and any additional tests carried out in patient medical record in accordance with organisation procedure
Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff
Notifying the GP/nurse of any significant patient issues
Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team
Responsible for insuring their car for business use
