The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8b Chief Clinical Technologist for their Nuclear Medicine services. The successful candidate will have substantial senior-level experience and will be responsible for managing and leading the comprehensive Nuclear Medicine, PET, and radionuclide therapy services across four sites, including a specialized pediatric service and a PET center. This role involves overseeing operational and strategic management of the technical team, ensuring consistent service delivery, meeting KPIs, and contributing to future service developments, including the establishment of a new PET center planned for 2026-2027.

In addition to administrative responsibilities, the post holder will maintain clinical duties involving the handling and administration of radioactive materials, imaging, analysis, and waste disposal. The role requires strong communication and organisational skills, extensive experience in service and staff management, and the ability to partake in strategic planning and workforce development. The applicant will also participate in departmental and divisional management meetings and oversee training and recruitment processes for the technical support team.
