The role of Band 7 Hepatobiliary (HPB)/Liver Surveillance Nurse at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust involves providing advanced care for patients with hepatopancreatobiliary cancers and benign cystic conditions, primarily based at Watford General Hospital. The position requires a highly motivated and qualified nurse to work collaboratively with the Hepatology and Gastroenterology teams, as well as the cancer and multidisciplinary teams, to enhance the pathway to diagnosis and offer holistic patient care. Responsibilities include managing outpatient clinics for liver conditions, conducting assessments, acting on abnormal imaging, and potentially becoming a nurse prescriber.

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) includes cross-site work and involves a range of tasks such as running independent clinics, managing telephone/virtual consultations, and attending multidisciplinary meetings. Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills are essential, and the candidate should be able to practice autonomously while developing innovative care services tailored to patient needs.
