As a Nurse joining our Older Peoples inpatient Service you will have an intrinsic role within the multi-disciplinary team and have a responsibility to contribute to the effective running of the service and future service development.

The Mount is a mental health unit based in Leeds City Centre. It comprises of 4 wards dedicated to the provision of acute inpatient care, support and treatment for older people with dementia and acute mental health needs. We are committed to improving service provision, and actively engaging staff in developing new initiatives and standards of care. You will be encouraged to develop creative ideas that support service users, carers, fellow professionals and the service as a whole.

We offer comprehensive on-going support and professional development to all our staff including appraisals, personal development plans, short term and long term study opportunities and a robust clinical supervision structure.

As Staff Nurse you will be responsible for efficiently co-ordinating and managing day to day care on the ward. You will be a confident role model, providing leadership to a team of support workers and other junior colleagues and students. You will work with service users, families and other carers to assess service user need, develop care plans and implement planned interventions. You must be able to adapt your approach to fit the needs of the individual and be able adjust your routines to the varying tempo of the activities and daily business of the ward.
